Young At Art opened on Saturday, March 3rd, with a reception attended by over 600 students, family members, teachers, and members of the community.
Awards were given at each level (elementary, middle, and high school) for 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, and group projects. Additionally, the Lil Maxwell Prize for Creativity was awarded at each level.
The goal of the Young At Art exhibition is to showcase the artwork of local children age 18 and younger, to give them the opportunity to hang their art in a gallery setting and to view the work of their contemporaries. The Mystic Arts Center seeks to broaden their perspective of various artistic styles and approaches to the creative process. Young At Art supports the Mystic Arts Center's commitment to educational programs and to the significant value we place on the arts enriching children's lives.
