The Mystic Arts Center depends upon the generosity of its many members and friends to fulfill the role our community has come to expect from it. There are many ways that people choose to give to the Center. Some of those are listed below.

Gifts to the Annual Appeal help us meet annual Center expenses. The Center is dependent on a healthy annual appeal to balance its budget each year.

Gifts to the general endowment are invested in our portfolio. They are allowed to grow and provide a secure financial base for the Center. The Board of Directors establishes a spending rule that allows the endowment to provide income to the annual budget at the same time that it protects the principal for the future.

Gifts to the educational endowment are specifically designated so that our extensive education program is not entirely dependent on grant revenue and so that we are able to offer educational scholarships to people who could otherwise not take advantage of our classes and programs.

Gifts for Prizes and Awards allow us to give monetary prizes to artists for outstanding works in juried shows. These gifts can be for current use or if large enough can be established in an endowment.

Gifts in memory of: Many people chose to honor a friend or family member by making a gift to the Center in memory of them. These gifts can be given for general operations or can be designated for a specific purpose.

Gifts to the Permanent Collection can be either monetary or works of art. Monetary gifts are used to purchase or conserve art. Our art collection depicts the rich history of Mystic Artists over the last century. There are gaps in that history that need to be filled and there are works of art in our collection that need conservation. Monetary gifts can be for current use or if large enough can be established in an endowment.

Gifts that earn you a place in the Charles H. Davis Society. There are a variety of ways that you can provide for the Center through estate planning. You can include the Center in your will or name the Center in a trust, an annuity or as a beneficiary of an insurance policy. Gifts through trusts or annuities can provide income for you or your loved ones as well as make a principal gift to the Center. Consult your financial planner or lawyer for details on the substantial tax benefits from these kinds of gifts.
