Can’t make it to the MAC? MAC will come to your classroom!  Using reproductions, storybooks, movement and/or theatre techniques, MAC educators help students make critical observations about artworks and the creative process.

Pop Up Studio

Grades Pre-K to 8 

An artist, medium or art theme is the focus of each program – choose from our “Masters”, “Media” or “Mixed Bag” series. Each student creates an artwork of his or her own using stylistic and compositional elements of the artist, technique or theme studied.

A focus on the artist’s work is followed by a project inspired by that artist. Choose from: Alexander Calder, Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, Piet Mondrian, Andy Warhol; Henri Matisse, Paul Klee; Pablo Picasso, Hieronymous Bosch, Georges Seurat, Wayne Thiebaud, Faith Ringgold.

An immersion in a medium and/or style of art. Choose from: Anime, Cartooning, Watercolor painting, Encaustic (wax) painting, Print-making, Russian Egg Painting, Collage, Recycled Art, Sculpture, Nature-made Art, Graphic Novel (5 classes)

Mixed Bag
A creative exploration of a theme. Choose from: Yoga & Art, Weather & Art, Art & Science, Home-made Clay or Paints, Art & the Five Senses, Art Around the World.

Class length: 1-hour. Book a SERIES! Topics above can be explored over 4 – 6 weeks, or mix and match topics of your choice.

Preferred class size 15 students. Up to 25 students possible with minimum 1 chaperone. Materials provided; classrooms with sinks preferred.

Fee: $125 per 1-hour program. Beyond 10 mile radius: Additional charge of $.45 per mile RT*
