Art ABC’s

Expose your child to a variety of media and processes through projects that stimulate imagination and creativity. A different take-home project is explored each week.

The Artist’s New Clothes

Inspired by the tale of The Paper Bag Princess, students use brown bags and other non-traditional materials as canvases for their own creative costume designs. Class will end with a fashion show.

Drawing & Painting Fundamentals

Lisa Lyman Adams
Working from various sources, including still lifes and other reference material, young artists strengthen their skills in drawing and paint application. Foundational basics like form, color, space and line will be discussed and explored. The teacher encourages returning students to advance their abilities and develop their style.

Homeschool Programs

MAC provides homeschool educational experiences through a combination of discussion and hands-on work in our galleries and studios. All programs focus on the elements of art and design, teach art vocabulary and utilize critical thinking skills. Appropriate for children ages 6 – 10.

Earth-Day Art
Hilary Opperman
Children discuss sustainability as it is related to art and then create upcycled sculptures using colorful and everyday objects: an empty soda bottle becomes a fish, lion, bird, or another creature from the animal kingdom.

Movement in Art

Students examine how artwork conveys movement, exploring MAC galleries with a dancer as their guide. Then they create a painting based on movement.
