Art ABC’s

Expose children to a variety of media and processes through projects that stimulate imagination and creativity. A different take-home project is explored each week.

Earth Day Crafts with Jamie Jackson
Students celebrate Earth Day by making nature-themed crafts like paper flowers, bark rubbings and more.

Edible Sculptures with Serena Bates
Children explore form by creating buildings, bridges, and other structures using only toothpicks, grapes and marshmallows.

Stenciling & Stamping with Annette Womack
Students explore impression-making on paper using chalk pastel, toothbrushes, and non-traditional stamps.

Mixed Media Collages witjh Annette Womack
Students hone their fine motor skills by cutting, crumpling, and gluing various types of papers into a finished collage.

Yoga & Art with Katie Ziskind
Students take a creative adventure with their whole bodies by making an animal mask and then moving as the animals do through yoga.

Hooray for Fish! with Gretchen Lally
Children discover their unique style and creativity while listening to a story about a one-of-kind fish, and then creating their own fish using paint and mixed media.

Children learn to create with clay made from common household products such as paper and baking soda.

Art Explorers

Inspire your child’s imagination and interest in art with fun educational projects in drawing, painting, and mixed media. Students learn fundamental art concepts and art vocabulary.

Recycled Material Sculptures with Hilary Opperman
Children celebrate Earth Day by making works of art out of recycled and reclaimed materials. Students are encouraged to bring any reusable or natural materials from home that they may want to use for the project.

Photography with Brenda de los Santos
Children practice shooting and composing pictures through a variety of fun exercises. A digital camera should be brought to class.

Drawing & Painting Fundamentals with Lisa Lyman Adams

Working from imagination and source material, young artists strengthen their skills in drawing and paint application. Basic perspective, composition, line and form, and positive-negative spatial relationships will be covered.
